John Kavanagh re-signs

Ramblers defender John Kavanagh has today become the latest player to re-sign for the club ahead of the 2022 League of Ireland season.

The 27 year old joined the club in 2020 from Cork City. He also spent part of the 2017 campaign on loan at St Colman’s Park, which will make the upcoming season his fourth at the club. He has captained the club for the past two seasons.

John has made a total of 45 first team appearances, 20 of which came last season. He came through the Leeside and Ringmahon Rangers schoolboy set-up, before joining City’s Academy. He enjoyed loan moves to Cobh, Waterford and Finn Harps but would remain at Cork until 2020 when he first joined the Rams on a permanent deal.

Kavanagh becomes the latest confirmed member of manager Darren Murphy’s playing squad for the 2022 League of Ireland campaign, with further announcements to come shortly.
