Cobh Ramblers FC Statement

615

The committee, management and players wish to express their sincere disappointment following last night’s events which took place outside the grounds of St Colman’s Park following the match with Drogheda Utd.

Cobh Ramblers had put in place an event management and crowd control plan. This consisted of a team of stewards and professional security within the grounds to cater for last night’s match.

It is extremely disappointing what transpired after the match and outside the ground, when a small number of people caused trouble and damage to the community and local residents.

Cobh Ramblers Committee Management and players strongly condemn this violence which has nothing to do with the game of football and is contrary to the spirit of the club.

It is most disappointing for the club, our fans and the families who support the club week in week out.

Cobh Ramblers Football clubs is currently liaising with the local Gardai, the FAI and Drogheda Utd in relation to this matter. The Gardai are aware of the videos on social media and we are offering our full support in dealing with the perpetrators.
