Rams to trial Rams in eco-friendly pitch maintenance

Cobh Ramblers, or The Rams as commonly known, have today launched a partnership with a number of local East Cork farmers which will see flocks of sheep and rams graze on St Colman’s Park in a new phase of eco-friendly pitch maintenance.

While initially sheepish of the idea, the club was convinced of the plan by environmental experts who spoke of the clear benefits. As a club we are always looking to improve our environmental impact and this is a clear method of doing so. It will also help the club engage with local sheep farmers of the highest quality.

This unique League of Ireland project, having launched today April 1st, is  expected to begin in coming weeks and rams will soon be commonplace at St Colman’s Park.
