Ramblers sign Dylan Walsh

Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to announce the signing of versatile defender Dylan Walsh for the 2020 season.

Cork native Walsh joins the club having spent the past four years playing football in Wales. Having begun his schoolboy days with Tramore Athletic, Dylan joined College Corinthians at U12 level, remaining there until 2014, as part of a very strong schoolboy side alongside the likes of Craig Donnellan, Shane Daly-Butz and Stephen Christopher. Having gained experience at senior level, in 2014  he signed for Ramblers’ U19 side under Stephen Bermingham and spent one season at St Colman’s Park.

Upon completing his Leaving Cert, Dylan moved to Wales, studying and playing football for Cardiff MU, the Welsh college side who famously qualified for last season’s Europa League qualifiers. He spent one season there before moving to Dinas Powys FC, a Welsh League Division One side, which is currently the third tier of Welsh football. He was a key member of their first team squad for three seasons. Upon completing his studies in Wales, Dylan returned to Cork and linked up with Ramblers recently in pre-season, impressing Stuart Ashton and the coaching staff.

Dylan becomes the 14th member of this season’s first team squad. The 23 year old had this to say about the news,

“I’m delighted to have signed back again for the club. I have great memories here from my time at Ramblers with the U19s a few years ago. Pre-season has been very sharp and all the squad are raring to go. We can’t wait to get started.”

Further announcements on the remainder of the senior squad, as well as the club’s pre-season schedule will be announced in the coming days and weeks.
