Pierce Phillips commits for 2021

Cobh Ramblers midfielder Pierce Phillips has signed a new deal at the club until the end of the 2021 League of Ireland season. Phillips made 16 first team appearances in 2020, having joined from Cork City at the beginning of the year. He also spent part of the 2018 campaign on loan at St Colman’s Park, which will make the upcoming season his third at the club.

The 22 year old came through the Rockmount schoolboy set-up, before joining City’s Academy in 2015. He would remain at the club until 2020 when he joined the Rams on a permanent deal. He scored once last season, in the 4-0 win away to Wexford FC, and was also given the captain’s armband towards the latter end of the year.

Pierce joins Sean Barron, Lee Devitt, Naythan Coleman, Darryl Walsh, Stephen O’Leary, Conor Drinan and Martin Coughlan in re-signing for next year, with plenty more announcements to come shortly.
