Cobh Ramblers Football club are currently looking for expressions of interest for the role of lead coach for the clubs League of Ireland Academy (Boys) U14 Team that will begin playing in the League of Ireland Underage in the 2026 Season. The squad will be made up of players born in 2012.
The Candidate will undertake recruitment plan as per new club Strategy to improve on the club’s recruitment strategy going forward. Potential players will currently be playing in the U13 Schoolboys League and the role of the coach in the coming months will be to attend games across the U13 league and identify potential players for the squad. There will be opportunity for potential players to attend session at St. Colman’s Park that will be headed by the lead coach and other UEFA Licensed coaches from the club across the 2024/25 Schoolboys Season.
The candidate will integrate into the existing academy coach’s structure and work with the other coaches across the age groups, ensuring open communications through the age groups to aid Individual Player and Club development up through the clubs pathway.
There will be opportunity for potential players to attend session at St. Colmans Park that will be headed by the lead coach and other UEFA Licensed coaches from the club across the 2024/25 Schoolboys Season.
The squad will be then selected in July 2025 when they will begin the pre-academy phase, training together and playing non-competitive matches in preparation for the League of Ireland U14 Team for the 2026 Season.
Ideally Applicants for the managers positions would meet the following minimum criteria but the club are open to anyone interested who would have previous experience playing at a high level and we can assist and support with coaches and scouting networks who are familiar with the 2012 age group and have the required coaching certificates. Cobh Ramblers can also assist any candidate in achieving coaching qualifications and progressing through the FAI coaching pathway.
Preferential Criteria:
Garda Vetting and Safeguarding training (Essential)
“UEFA B” or a Valid UEFA recognition of competence equivalent to the licence required
Experience and Knowledge of the 2012 Cork Schoolboys League squads
Experience of coaching at a national or Schoolboys League Level and development of underage Players
Strong motivation and organisational skills
Candidate will report to the Head of academy Brian Murray
