Gary Hunt appointed Ramblers manager

Cobh Ramblers are pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Hunt as the club’s new first team manager.

Gary joins us from his role at Waterford FC, where as first team coach he helped the Blues to promotion to the Premier Division in 2023. He has also served as interim manager and Head of Academy among a number of roles at the RSC club.

Gary has a wealth of experience in League of Ireland football, and the club believe that he is the perfect fit to ensure stability and a consolidation of the progress made over the last number of years on and off the pitch. Gary is currently sitting his UEFA Pro Licence and has great ambition to further progress in the game. He will announce his backroom staff in the coming days along with further squad announcements.

The club would like to thank all our supporters for their support over the last week and we look forward to further the continued positive progression of Cobh Ramblers FC.

Gary had this to say regarding the appointment,

“After speaking to the club I was impressed at the progress Cobh has made both on and off the pitch, especially the development of St Colman’s Park. I have had an excellent few seasons with Waterford and although it was a difficult decision to make following promotion, my own personal ambition is to become a head coach.

I am excited with the challenge this brings and I am looking forward to working hard alongside the club, the fans, the board, the volunteers and the players and the staff to help Cobh Ramblers be competitive in the First Division for the 2024 season.

Having worked in the First Division over the past number of seasons I know what the league is all about and hopefully those experiences will help in the year ahead with Cobh. I have a busy few weeks ahead prior to returning for pre-season and I’m looking forward to it all.

Come on the Rams!”
