We at Cobh Ramblers are proud and delighted to be part of Douglass Week 2021. This week- long programme of events commemorates the legacy of Frederick Douglass. The activist, author and abolitionist had a strong and transformative connection to Ireland after visiting in 1845.
This online event will focus on the shared values of equality, diversity & inclusion. We’re delighted to have such a strong panel of speakers on the night, including:
- Bill O’ Leary, Chair of Cobh Ramblers/ Panel Chair
- Adam Idah, Irish International
- Mary McDonnell, Cobh Women’s Captain
- Brendan Ogle, Unite Union ROI
- TJ Hogan, East Cork Travellers Project
We’re also delighted to welcome Dr. Adrian Mulligan from Bucknell University, as well as a pre-recorded Q&A with Irish International Cyrus Christie on the day.
With contributions from local and global communities, this #douglassweek event is a must-attend. The event will be streamed live on Saturday 13th February at 7pm. Places are limited, so please book HERE now to avoid disappointment!
