Cobh Ramblers FC Announces Historic Leadership Changes: Sinead Sheridan Appointed Chairperson; Bill Liao Joins as Co-Chair and Strategic Advisor
COBH, IRELAND – Cobh Ramblers FC today announced significant changes to its Board of Directors, marking a new chapter in the club’s history. After eight years of dedicated service to the board, Bill O’Leary will step down from his position. The club has appointed Sinead Sheridan as the new Chairperson and welcomes tech pioneer Bill Liao as Strategic Advisor and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors.
A Historic Appointment Sinead Sheridan, previously an elected committee member, assumes the role of Chairperson effective immediately. This appointment marks a significant milestone, as Sheridan becomes only the second woman to hold the role of Chairperson in the history of the League of Ireland.
Sheridan is no stranger to St. Colman’s Park; her family have been faithful supporters for many years. Her journey with the club began on the terraces as a fan, evolved into a role as a dedicated board volunteer, and has now culminated in her leadership of the club. Known for her tireless involvement in daily operations while balancing her life as a mother and wife, Sheridan represents the heart and soul of the Ramblers community.
Strategic Vision Added to the Board The club is also proud to announce the appointment of Bill Liao as a Strategic Advisor and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Cobh Ramblers FC Limited.
Liao brings a wealth of global experience to the club. A social networking pioneer, author, and speaker, Bill is the Co- founder of Coder Dojo and a partner at the venture capital firm SOSV. A regular attendee at TED conferences and the World Economic Forum New Champions conference, Liao’s expertise will be instrumental in guiding the club’s strategic growth and future endeavors.
Gratitude for Outgoing Leadership Ilya Movshovich, Managing Partner of Digital Athlete Ventures, ownership group of Cobh Ramblers FC, extends its deepest gratitude to outgoing Chairperson Bill O’Leary. O’Leary served on the Board for eight years, six of which were spent as Chairperson. During his tenure, the club made considerable progressive strides across all aspects of the organization despite facing numerous challenges.
