Brian Murray appointed Head of Academy at Cobh Ramblers

Cobh Ramblers Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Murray as the club’s Head of Academy. Brian will fulfil the role previously filled by Ivan Bevan. We would once again like to take this opportunity to thank Ivan for the work he carried out in the club.

Most recently, Brian guided Blarney United to promotion to the top tier of MSL football in Cork in 2022 as the clubs 10 year wait for promotion back to the topflight was ended. This promotion was achieved with a Squad containing several players who came through the Blarney United Underage teams, so promotion and development of young players is something Brian is well used to.

On Tuesday last Brian was introduced to the coaches in the academy and he will now embark on his new role of working with these coaches to grow and improve the club and its academy structures.

Brian Murray: I am very happy to say I have accepted the position as Director of Coaching at Cobh Ramblers Academy. From the outset I was really impressed by the people I met when this opportunity was presented and proposed to me. It was the honesty of those people that’s made this possible for Cobh Ramblers and me. Ivan Bevan has put a lot of work into growing the academy to its current position and I am I will embrace the challenge on my time and abilities in growing the academy from the position where Ivan has left it.

“I’m also really looking forward to working and assisting all the Coaches in the Academy with my coaching qualifications and experience. I will be working on a SWOT analysis of the Academy and once this is completed, I will come up with common goals and a plan to achieve these goals with all the stakeholders in Cobh Ramblers going forward.

“I would be delighted if any individuals who have any suggestions or ideas that they feel can help better the club in the coaching area to make contact with me, and I will make every effort to facilitate their idea”.
