Cathal O’Hanlon Signs up for 2024

Cobh Ramblers are delighted to announce the signing of Cobh native Cathal O’Hanlon for the 2024 Season.
Cathal played Schoolboy with Springfield Ramblers at schoolboy level and was a regular member of the Cork Schoolboys League team winning two all-Ireland Inter Leagues during his schoolboy years.
He made the move to Charlton Athletic in 2012 and represented the Republic of Ireland Underage teams from U15’s -U18’s and also won the U18 premier league with Charlton.
Cathal returned home where he was awarded the Quercus Sports Scholarship from UCC and won a MSL premier division, 2 x Collingwood cups and an O’Connell Cup as part of a successful UCC team.
Gary Hunt:
“Cathal coming in gives us good competition now in the goalkeeper position. He is hungry to make this step and has shown in the few weeks with us that he has what it takes to compete with Darragh for the number 1 spot.
We are less than two weeks out from the start so this is another step closer to finalising our squad and Cathal will bring a lot of qualities to help develop the squad also.
Working alongside Noel I am seeing the goalkeepers (including our academy ones) improving in all the areas we need them to which should help us see the rewards of this on Friday nights.
