Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to announced the signing of Anthony McAlavey from Waterford FC.
Anthony played underage football for Mayfield Utd. before joining the Cork City U19 squad ahead of the 2012/2013 season. Anthony played several trial games Waterford before signing officially on 13 February 2015. He went on to play a large role in Waterford’s season by playing in 22 of their league matches, although the Blues finished second from bottom in the 2015 First Division.
In 2016 Anthony scored his first league goal, in a 3-1 win over Cabinteely at the RSC, and he went on to get five goals in 22 league appearances. In January 2017 Anthony was one of the first players to commit to a rebranded Waterford FC under new boss Pat Fenlon.
Speaking to Cobh Ramblers FC, Anthony said “I’m excited to sign for Cobh for the 2018 season. It brings a new challenge which I’m really looking forward to.”
