Turner’s Turn to Sign new Deal

Cobh Ramblers midfielder Ian Turner has become the latest player to re-sign for the 2021 League of Ireland season. The experienced campaigner joined the club from St Patrick’s Athletic in 2019, and made 31 appearances that year, the most of any first team player. He then featured in 17 of our 21 games in 2020 as we narrowly missed out on a First Division play-off spot.

Turner began his career at Wilton United before joining the Academy set-up at Cork City, where he impressed at Youth and U21 level. He spent six seasons within the City first team, winning the 2011 First Division in the process. He also spent time in the Premier Division at Limerick FC, winning Premier Division Player of the Month in October 2015. In 2017 he joined Dublin outfit St Pat’s and enjoyed two seasons at Richmond Park, before returning to Cork in 2019 and joining the Rams.

The 31 year old scored three times last season, with all three goals proving to be vital winners against Athlone, Galway and Longford Town respectively.

Ian joins Pierce Phillips, Sean Barron, Lee Devitt, Naythan Coleman, Darryl Walsh, Stephen O’Leary, Conor Drinan and Martin Coughlan in re-signing for next year, with more announcements to come shortly.
