Ramblers Trio Re-Sign

Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to confirm that Michael McCarthy, Tiernan O’Brien and James O’Leary have re-signed with the club for the 2025 League of Ireland season.

Michael McCarthy (20) first joined Cobh Ramblers at U15 level from Midleton and has since progressed through our academy set-up. The Youghal native made his first team debut in 2022 and has amassed over 50 club appearances. He was a member of the recent Ireland Colleges & Universities Squad and scored the deciding goal in their win over France.

Tiernan O’Brien (21) also joined the club’s Academy at U15 level, from Fermoy, progressing through our underage set-up and making his senior debut in 2022. The winger played a key role in the side that reached the First Division Play-Off Final in 2023 and has made over 50 senior appearances.

James O’Leary (22) joined Cobh in 2022 from Cork City and famously scored the crucial goal in the 2023 Play-Off semi-final against Wexford at St Colman’s Park. He also grabbed the winner in the 2022 Munster Cup final against Cork City.

Michael, Tiernan and James join Shane Griffin, Niall O’Keeffe, Cian Murphy, Jason Abbott and Brendeán Frahill as confirmed members of our 2025 first team squad.
