Preview | Harps at home for Keegan’s Cobh

Finn Harps of Donegal make the arduous trip to St Colman’s Park on Friday night, as Cobh Ramblers host a second game in the space of five days.

The Rams come into the tie on the back of Monday’s promising 4-1 win over Kerry, where Wilson Waweru, Charlie Lyons, Tiernan O’Brien and Liam Kervick all got on the scoresheet. Prior to that was a narrow 1-0 defeat away to league leaders Galway, a performance which drew further compliments.

Ramblers now sit fourth in the table, and face a Harps side coming into the tie on the back of a 4-1 home defeat to Athlone. While it hasn’t been an ideal start to the season for Dave Rogers’ side, they are only four points below Cobh in seventh spot.

The pair met at Finn Park earlier this season when the hosts took an early 2-0 lead before Ramblers earned a point with a brace from top scorer Jack Doherty. Friday night is Harps’ first trip to Cobh since 2018, with Ramblers’ last home win against the Ulstermen coming in 2014 when Rob Waters scored in a 1-0 victory.

On the injury front Cian Browne, Pierce Phillips and Jack Doherty remain absent for Shane Keegan’s side.

Kick-off on Friday is at 19:45 with the game being streamed live on LOITV.
Tickets for the game are available to purchase online here

On the night supporters are encouraged to wear their Darkness Into Light (DIL) t-shirts, or anything yellow, to show their support for DIL 2023 which takes place on Saturday morning in Cobh and across the country. During the walk we will be also lighting up one of the St Colman’s Park floodlights.
