We would like to thank Alan and Bardsley Building & Civil Engineering Contractors for being this week’s match sponsor v Bray Wanderers.

We would also like to thank Alan for his generous donation towards the recent development of St. Colmans Park.
Club Chairman Bill O’Leary:-
“This is a special and momentous occasion for our famous club. We are here celebrating together the transformative opening of a superb new facility with a state of the art new pitch and lighting. The opening is a culmination of many years of work and special thanks must be extended to all board members past and present along with other volunteers. It’s difficult always to single out individuals but Jim, Tony, Mark, Kevin and Stephen have given so much of their time to make this a reality and we thank them hugely. The government supported us through the Sports Capital Grant Scheme and we extend our gratitude to them. and to Minister Thomas Byrne in particular. Ministers Simon Coveney, and James O Connor believed in the project and supported us every step of the way as did the local council especially Sinead and Cathal.
The local residents and community have also been very supportive and recognise the significant wider community benefit of this project.
This project will position us strongly within the fabric of Cobh and supports our philosophy of being a community club – “of the people and for the people”. It is important to us that as we look to the future we don’t forget our proud history and the past players, members, volunteers and supporters. With that in mind, we are thrilled that such an important past player and integral member of the team of “83” Paul O’Neill, brother of Frank O Neill who sadly passed away recently will officially open our new facility.”
