Cobh Ramblers are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark McNulty as the new Women’s U17 Head Coach. McNulty brings a wealth of experience to the role, both as a player and as a coach, as the club continues its commitment to developing women’s football in Cork and beyond.
A true icon of Cork football, McNulty enjoyed a stellar playing career spanning nearly two decades, most notably with Cork City FC. He amassed over 450 appearances for the Rebel Army, winning a Premier Division title in 2017, two FAI Cups (2007 & 2016), and three President’s Cups, along with the Munster Senior Cup. Renowned for his leadership, consistency, and shot-stopping ability, McNulty was a cornerstone of Cork City’s most successful modern era.
Since hanging up his gloves, Mark has transitioned seamlessly into coaching, contributing to the development of young talent within Cork City’s academy setup and working as part of the FAI/ ETB player development course.
His appointment at Cobh Ramblers signifies a major step forward as the club, in partnership with FC32, places a renewed focus on nurturing the next generation of female footballers.
This move aligns with Cobh Ramblers’ strategic vision to grow the women’s game, with an eye firmly set on fielding a Senior Women’s League of Ireland team by 2026. As part of this ambitious plan, several key coaching and support roles are currently available within the women’s side of the academy. The club encourages aspiring coaches and staff passionate about advancing women’s football to get involved during this exciting period of expansion.
Mark had this to say on his appointment: “Delighted to be given the opportunity by Cobh to be the head coach of the WU17, it’s an exciting time to be part of the club with the announcement of a women’s senior team in 2026.”
