Jack Doherty completes Ramblers return

Cobh Ramblers FC are delighted to announce than Jack Doherty has returned to the club for the 2025 League of Ireland season.

The 30 year old previously joined the club for the 2023 season where his 18 league goals played a key role in Ramblers reaching the First Division play-off final. He then joined Cork City, helping them to the 2024 First Division title, scoring eight goals along the way. He has also spent time at Wexford, Longford and Waterford in a lengthy League of Ireland career.

Manager Michael McDermott today gave his thoughts on his latest new arrival,

“When we realised Jack was available we immediately made it a priority to bring him back to Cobh. After speaking with Jack and hearing of his desire to return to the club, the relationship he had with the community and fans; it became an easy decision for me. He has quality, he has experience and he has the ambition and desire that matches what we want to accomplish in Cobh.”

Club chairman Bill O’Leary also gave his views, “Bill quote: “Getting Jack back to Cobh is huge; He is loved here. It’s a statement of intent as to the ambition of our team, our Club and our Community

Jack joins fellow new arrivals, Shane Griffin, Niall O’Keeffe and Cian Murphy, Jason Abbott and Brendeán Frahill as confirmed members of our 2025 first team squad.
