Darren Murphy confirms backroom staff

New Cobh Ramblers interim manager Darren Murphy has today confirmed his backroom staff that will be working alongside him for the remainder of the 2021 League of Ireland season.

Fran Rockett will take the role of assistant manager, having departed Waterford FC earlier this year. Fran came through the ranks at Tramore AFC and Waterford United. He then spent two seasons at Cobh as a player in 2005 & 2006, before signing for Kilkenny City. He spent four seasons coaching with Waterford and took over their senior team from John Sheridan for the conclusion of the 2020 season.

Also joining the coaching staff is another former Ramblers player, Conor Meade. A member of our 2007 First Division winning squad, Conor also enjoyed time at Avondale, Waterford United and Cobh Wanderers. He was a member of the 2017 Cobh Wanderers team that played Liffey Wanderers in the Intermediate Cup Final, scoring twice against Sunday’s opponents.

Finally, Dermot Ryan will step up from the U19 side alongside Darren in his role as Strength & Conditioning coach. Steve Quinlan and Ken Hennessy will manage the logistics of the squad, with Will O’Flaherty as physio.

We look forward to working with Darren and all his backroom staff for the remainder of the 2021 season, starting with Sunday’s FAI Cup tie.
