Cian Bargary Signs On At Cobh Ramblers for 2025 Season

Cian Bargary, a 24-year-old midfielder, has joined Cobh Ramblers FC for the 2025 season after a notable tenure with Cork City FC. Bargary began his youth career with St Michael’s in Tipperary before joining Cork City’s U17 team in 2017, progressing to their U19 side in 2018. He signed his first professional contract with Cork City in January 2019 and made his senior debut on April 1, 2019, in a League Cup match against Cobh Ramblers. His league debut followed on May 20, 2019, where he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over UCD.

During his time at Cork City, Bargary made over 100 appearances across various competitions, contributing significantly to the team’s performance. In the 2024 season, he played 23 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists.

Bargary’s versatility and attacking prowess are expected to be valuable assets for Cobh Ramblers as they prepare for the upcoming season. His experience in both the League of Ireland Premier and First Divisions will bring depth and dynamism to the squad.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Bargary stated, “I’m excited to join Cobh Ramblers and really looking forward to getting started; it’s a fresh start for me having been previously with Cork City for several years. It’s an exciting time for the club and I’m very excited to get in and get going.”

Cobh Ramblers’ management also expressed confidence in Bargary’s abilities, highlighting his experience and work ethic as key factors that align with the club’s ambitions for the 2025 season.

Manager Michael McDermott also gave his thoughts on the new arrival, “Cian is a player that we targeted immediately; he has tremendous ability combined with extensive experience in the league.  He has shown that he can effectively play in multiple roles along the entire right side of the pitch. His energy and enthusiasm is something that fits well with our plans in Cobh”

After a hectic few months for at committee level with the arrival of new owners Chairman Bill O’Leary added “We are delighted to have Cian sign for us. He brings us something different and will complement the skillsets we have.  As a community focused club, we are blending young local talent with exciting and proven recruits. We know that the Cobh and Cork football community are excited with what is happening here and will back us big time as they have done so already with the incredible response to our new club shop. We are a unified club on and off the pitch and that culture is special and not easy to replicate. I just think of the young boys and girls waiting excitedly for Christmas and also dreaming of great things for Cobh Ramblers on the back of further great recruitment.”

All at Cobh Ramblers Would like to thank our supporters and community for the support they have given us throughout the year and we would like to wish everyone a peaceful and Merry Christmas.
