Shane Griffin signs for Cobh

Cobh Ramblers FC are delighted to welcome former Bray Wanderers and Waterford midfielder Shane Griffin to the club for the 2025 League of Ireland season.

The 24 year old first joined Waterford’s academy in 2016, breaking into their senior squad in 2018 and spending six full seasons at the RSC. He then joined Bray Wanderers in 2024 and played a key role as the Wicklow club reached the Play-Off final against Drogheda United. Shane has made over 140 League of Ireland appearances.

He gave his thoughts on the move earlier today, “I’m delighted to get the deal sorted. When Michael outlined the club’s plans and future, it was a no-brainer for me. I’m looking forward now to meeting the lads for pre-season and getting ready for the new year.”

Manager Michael McDermott also gave his thoughts on his new arrival, “Shane brings proven quality to the team and has an ability to play several roles in midfield – including deep and advanced positions. His set-piece delivery will no doubt be a great asset to the team.”

Shane joins fellow new arrivals Niall O’Keeffe and Cian Murphy, Jason Abbott and Brendeán Frahill as confirmed members of our 2025 first team squad.
