U17 Coaching Staff Confirmed

Following on from a very successful debut season as U17 manager, Darren Dennehy has confirmed his backroom staff for the 2021 U17 season. Last year his Young Rams qualified from their group to the elite phase of the National U17 league, in a campaign that was disrupted heavily due to Covid-19.

Continuing alongside Darren in 2021 is Dean Buckley. Dean enters his second year at the club, having been an integral part of the setup in 2020. Dean moved into coaching a number of years ago, following a successful playing career, that included National League experience. He has coached at local schoolboy level, as well as at intervarsity level with UCC. The club is delighted that Dean will continue, in conjunction with Darren, to build on a great season last year.

A new arrival within our U17 set-up is Johnny Cooney, who joins the coaching panel after coaching successfully at local level in Cork for a number of years. Johnny has coached in the Cork Youth League, the Cork AUL and again at intervarsity level with UCC. He will be a huge asset helping with the development of this excellent group of players.

The team is completed by Eric O’Driscoll. Eric joins Ramblers with many years coaching experience behind him. He has coached at senior, junior and underage level in the past. Eric is also PFSA qualified in Talent Identification and Opposition Analysis.

We will be announcing the coaching staff of our remaining academy staff within the coming days.
