Steven Scallan to represent Ramblers in eLOI

Following the FAI’s recent announcement of the first ever eLeague of Ireland competition, we are pleased to announce that Steven Scallan will be representing Cobh Ramblers in the the competition’s opening season.

Steven is a 22 year old Kilkenny native and won our recent qualifying event. He is a goalkeeper at prestigious Kilkenny junior club Freebooters, while he is also a keen gaelic footballer having appeared on TG4 show ‘Underdogs’ a number of years ago.

Steven had this to say about being chosen to represent Ramblers, “I’ve played FIFA for the last number of years as a hobby and having the chance to play for the club competitively in the first eLOI is something I’m really looking forward too.”

The eLOI competition will kick off on 6 April. Our first game will see Ramblers face Shelbourne, with Bray, Finn Harps and Drogheda also in Group D. Streaming details TBC.

The eLOI becomes a part of the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series tournament circuit and is an Official League Qualifier on the Road to the FIFA e World Cup. The top two players in the eLOI tournament will qualify for the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 European PS4 Play-Offs to be held later this year. Additionally, the overall winner of the eLOI will go on to represent the Republic of Ireland in the FIFA eNations Series 2021 going head-to-head against the top FIFA esports nations in qualification in May 2021, attempting to reach the Grand Finals in the Autumn.

The second Republic of Ireland player chosen to represent their country in the FIFAe Nations Series will qualify via an open online tournament, the FAI eCup which will run across Ireland on April 1st, April 8th, and April 15th with the winner of this qualification series playing in May’s qualifiers.
