Cobh Ramblers have signed former Cork City and Waterford United midfielder Stephen Kenny. Stephen has been training with the squad recently and completed the move once the July transfer window opened. He becomes their third new addition after Ron Stanton and Garry Comerford.
Stephen played underage football at Leeds FC in Cork before moving to Cork City’s u19 side for the 2011/12. He won the u19 double that year in a team that included Garry Buckley, Danny Morrissey and John Kavanagh. He moved on to the senior team where he played sparingly during the 2012 and 2013 campaigns. Ahead of the 2014 season, he signed for Waterford United. He only spent a few months at the RSC before signing for the Rams.
He will go straight into the Ramblers squad for their First Division clash with Wexford Youths on Friday. Kenny will bring plenty of experience to this youthful Rams side and could be a vital signing by Martin Cambridge as they look to climb up the table. Cobh’s transfer dealings are not over yet and they hope to announce more signings throughout the July transfer window.
