Longford host Rams | Match Preview

Cobh Ramblers’ final game of the first round of the First Division takes place this Tuesday evening, as Darren Murphy’s side visit Longford Town in a re-arranged tie which was postponed from the opening night of the season.

The Rams come into the tie on the back of a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Waterford in Friday’s Munster Derby. Longford meanwhile were 2-0 winners over Athlone last time out and have three wins in their past four outings. Cobh would move a point behind seventh place Wexford with a win, while the hosts would could climb above Waterford into third if they emerge as victors.

The sides last met in 2020 when Cobh did the double over the Midlands side, in a season where Longford ended up securing promotion via the play-offs.

Cobh midfielder Luke Desmond is set to return from suspension but goalkeeper Sean Barron and defender Issa Kargbo remain doubts.

Kick-off in Bishopsgate is 19:45 on Tuesday night, with the game being streamed live on LOITV here.
