Griffin & McCarthy re-sign for 2022 season

Ramblers striker Ciaran Griffin and defender James McCarthy have today become the latest players to re-sign for the club ahead of the 2022 League of Ireland campaign.

20 year old Griffin joined the club in 2021 from Cobh Wanderers, having come through the ranks at Springfield Ramblers in Cobh. A debut goal against Cork City started his Ramblers career in style and he scored 3 goals in 15 appearances during the season. The young attacker also featured for our U19 side on occasion as an eligible overage player following his return from injury.

McCarthy made his debut in the 1-0 Derby win over Cork City and the 27 year old featured 7 times in total during the campaign. Showing his versatility on the right wing at times, James joined the club in 2021 from Midleton where he captained the MSL side.

Ciaran and James becomes the latest confirmed members of manager Darren Murphy’s playing squad for the 2022 League of Ireland campaign, with further announcements to come shortly.
