Eoin O’Donovan signs for 2019

Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Eoin O’Donovan for the 2019 League of Ireland season.

Eoin originally joined Ramblers’ U19 setup in 2012 from Rockmount and was a member of Dave Hill’s side that competed in the Elite Division for the first time. Playing as a left back and left midfielder, Eoin also trained with the senior squad following Ramblers admission to the League of Ireland ranks in 2013.

He left the club in 2013, joining Mayfield, before moving to the US and taking up a scholarship with Longwood University. He became a key member of their squad up until graduation where he returned to Europe, signing for Gibraltar side FC Bruno’s Magpies in 2018.

The now 23 year old is eager to commence his football career back in Ireland again and had this to say about the signing,

“Firstly I’m delighted to sign with Cobh again. Having played here at u19 level, when it came to trying and push towards the senior team I decided to go to America on a scholarship for four years. I feel like I’ve really matured and developed  as a player since then and that should help this season.

I had a long conversation with Stephen Henderson and we both decided that signing for Ramblers was the best thing for me. I’m excited to get started and meet the rest of the team. The club is getting bigger each season and I believe that this squad can really push on and do well in the year ahead.”
