Cobh Ramblers have today completed the signing of former Waterford United defender Peter White. White has also has spells with Wexford Youths, Kilkenny City and Limerick and could be a shrewd signing by Rams boss Martin Cambridge.

The Tipperary born defender started off his career with Carrick United before a first foray into League of Ireland football at Kilkenny City in 2005. The following season saw a move to Limerick FC where he remained until 2009, making 38 appearances for the club. At the start of the 2009 season he signed for Wexford Youths but only remained at Ferrycarrig Park for a year as he returned to Limerick in 2010. In 2012 he completed a move to Waterford United and stayed at the RSC before leaving midway through the 2014 season.

White becomes Cobh’s sixth signing of the off-season, following five re-signings during the week. He is the club’s first new arrival and should provide plenty of experience to what is a very youthful Cobh side. He can play in defence and midfield and will be a valuable addition to the squad. The club are expected to announce more arrivals in the coming days.
