John Dineen returns to LOI Football

Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to announce the signing of John Dineen head of the 2018 LOI season.

John played underage football with Kingdom Boys in his native Kerry and with Belvedere in Dublin before joining the underage set up at Cork City. He made his senior debut for Cork City as a substitute in the 2-0 Setanta Cup win against Cliftonville at Solitude on 1 September 2008.

John left Cork City to join UCD on a scholarship in 2009 UCD and was part of the squad that lifted the First Division title that year. In March 2010 he returned to Cork, signing for Tommy Dunne at Cork City Foras Co-op. (Source: Extratime.ie)

More recently John played football with Delaware College where he also studied. He also won the Collingwood Cup in 2017 with UCD.

Speaking to Cobh Ramblers FC John said, ” I’m really excited to sign with Cobh, we have a really young squad that’s hungry for success and I’m happy to be part of what the manager and coaching staff are building here!”

With just 3 days to go until our league opener away to Longford Town Manager Stephen Henderson said “John’s another great addition to the squad. We’re not done yet! We’re working on one or two more maybe even a loan deal.”

Ramblers open their 2018 campaign away to Longford in the City Calling Stadium this Saturday in a 7.30pm Kick-Off.

Cobh Ramblers Football Club is an Irish football club. The club, founded in 1922 and elected to the League of Ireland in 1985, hails from Cobh, County Cork and play their home matches at St. Colman's Park. The club's colours are claret and blue.
