Paul Hunt re-signs for 2018

Goalkeeper Paul Hunt has today committed to the club for the 2018 League of Ireland campaign, his third season at St Colman’s Park. Paul was recently awarded the club’s player of the year for 2017 and served as our vice-captain throughout the 2017 season.

The Ramblers number one first signed for Cobh in 2016 from Longford Town having spent five seasons in the Midlands, winning the 2014 First Division title while at the club. He has also had spells at Bohemians and St Pat’s.

‘Hunty’ helped the Rams reach the play-offs against Drogheda United in his first season and was a key part of the squad who finished second in the league in 2017, producing countless stunning saves and keeping 12 clean sheets. Remarkably he has not missed a single one of our 58 league games played since signing and has amassed a total of 65 appearances in past two years.

It has already been a busy off-season for Paul as he recently married a fellow goalkeeper in Trish Fennelly, sister of former Cobh ‘keeper Anthony Fennelly.

Hunt is one of two signings to be announced today, the other being experienced midfielder Ian Mylod. Don’t miss out on seeing the Rams in action in 2018 and pick up your season ticket today via our website for €100 prior to December 31st!
