Six u19 players added to senior squad

Cobh Ramblers manager Stephen Henderson has added six of Ethan McCarthy’s u19 players to the senior setup for the 2017, finishing off his squad for the new season.

Ryan O’Regan, Gordon Walker, Troy O’Sullivan, Darren Murphy, Matthew Lamb and Patrick Crowley have all signed senior forms at the club, having impressed during pre-season for our u19 side.

Midfielder Ryan O’Regan signed for the club’s u17 side from Carrigaline United in 2015 and was one of their most impressive performers last season as they claimed the U17 Shield. Defender Gordon Walker signed for the club’s u17s in 2016 from Cork City and captained them for the majority of the campaign. He is also part of the Rochestown College u19 side who have reached the Munster Schools Final. Troy O’Sullivan is another defender who arrived at our u19 setup in 2016 from Ringmahon Rangers and has played for the u18 Irish home-based side.

Midfielder Darren Murphy made the move to our u19s from Ballincollig in 2017, having previously played for Cork City and Springfield Ramblers. He captained Ballincollig to FAI Youths Cup glory in 2016. Midleton native Matthew Lamb is a midfield player and a graduate of our u17 side. He progressed to u19 level this year. Finally, Patrick ‘Pop’ Crowley has additionally made the step up to senior football. The former Strand United and Blarney man arrived this year from Cork City where he was in their UEFA Youth League squad.
