CIT students present Ramblers marketing plan

As a club, Cobh Ramblers FC are constantly making efforts to improve ourselves both on and off the pitch. Limited financial resources require us to use unique and innovative pathways to achieve these goals. One of these ideas came to fruition on Friday night as committee members and volunteers from the club witnessed two fantastic presentations on marketing from CIT Masters students.

These two groups of students had put together an integrated Cobh Ramblers marketing plan over the past few weeks, under the guidance of lecturer Stephen Ryan. Stephen is marketing manager at Cork’s Red FM and we have gotten to know him well since launching our partnership with the station.

As part of their coursework, the students looked into various areas that the club could use to progress. This included social media, events, traditional media, community integration and much more. We have already utilised some of these ideas and will continue to do so. Both presentations were of an excellent standard and we we would like to thank all involved for their contributions.

We will have some exciting campaigns and endeavours to come in the near future. This is a hugely positive time for the club. We would also like to thank CIT who have been great supporters of the club over the last number of years. We have used their superb facilities to train during the winter months while numerous Cobh players have benefited from scholarships to the college.

Missing from the photo is Munster Rugby star Duncan Williams, who was a member of one of the groups. Duncan offered tips and ideas that are used at Munster, and this was an excellent facility to have. It is great to learn from some of the region’s pioneers in sports marketing!
