Airtricity Under-17 League groups and format announced

The groups and format for the 2016 Airtricity Under-17 League have been announced by the FAI today.  This will be the first full season for the Under-17 League, following on from the interim season played in 2015.

The League will kick off on the week-ending Sunday 20th March 2016 and will comprise of two groups, the Northern Elite Division and Southern Elite Division. Upon the completion of the regular League fixtures, the top four Clubs in each of the Northern and Southern Elite Divisions will progress to the Champions Knockout Phase.

There will also be an Under-17 League Cup and this will be played midweek, in a regionalised format.

Cobh Ramblers have been placed in the Elite Southern Division, along with the following clubs:

Bray Wanderers, Cabinteely, Cork City, Kerry League, Limerick FC, Mervue United, Salthill Devon, Shamrock Rovers, UCD, Waterford United, Wexford Youths.
